OUR MISSION

Giving you the power to care

M-TIBA started in Kenya in 2015 to solve real-world challenges in health insurance—disconnected systems, high costs, and limited access.

Today, we help health insurers launch and scale smarter, more efficient health segments across emerging and frontier markets.

EMPOWERMENT

A connected ecosystem to benefit the individual

The cost of care is rising- trust and access are falling

Across many markets, healthcare remains unaffordable and fragmented. Without trust or coverage, people delay care or pay out of pocket—trapping them in cycles of debt and poor outcomes. This breakdown hurts everyone: members can’t access care, providers lose income, and insurers struggle to grow sustainably.

From health wallet to next-gen technology

M-TIBA began in Kenya, building on the mobile money revolution to launch a health wallet that gave people direct access to care. What started as a member-first innovation is now powering end-to-end health insurance operations across Africa and the Middle East—helping insurers launch faster, operate leaner, and expand access to care at scale.

Make every transaction work better

By digitizing and automating claims and payments, M-TIBA helps hospitals get paid faster, unlock better rates, and reduce costs. This improves cash flow across the ecosystem—empowering providers to invest in care, and enabling insurers to offer more affordable products to new segments.

Everyone wins: better care, lower risk, and stronger trust between payers, providers, and members.

Personalized experiences for members

M-TIBA puts members in control of their health journey—with real-time access to benefits, claims, and coverage. By personalizing engagement and simplifying access, insurers can improve trust, reduce churn, and unlock new health insurance models for the next wave of members.

It’s the same mobile-first mindset that changed how we bank, shop, and travel—now transforming health insurance.
